my fears in a late night poem

Recommended Posts

It scares me that I would cut deeper if

I could find anything other than a

Dull pocket knife

It terrifies me

that the thin scabs tracing

my wrist

could become scars

remnants of my past weaknesses

now, tonight, I smile at the thin pink lines

just over my left breast

It's the first time I've smiled at my reflection.

Hey you? are strong. And this? has me speechless. And you? are beautiful. You can get through your pain. I believe in you! (Please be safe, my friend. The world values you as you are and would not change a thing.)

Hey, this is really good and I love it. You're strong, we can all feel your strength.

Not quite sure where I'm going, but I'm going somewhere, that's for sure.

I know you asked for critiques but I just want to make it very clear that you’re stronger than anything life can throw your way, and your desire to live must be a lot stronger than the desire to press harder with that dull knife.  I’m glad that you still have that need to live within you. And if some stranger on the internet is glad you’ve got that, think how many people who know you are glad you do.
